Bicyclist sues Illinois Department of Transportation for bike lane safety negligence

A Chicago man is suing the Illinois Department of Transportation for road safety negligence. He blames an unsafe drain in a bike lane causing him to fall while riding his bicycle. The suit alleges that the metal sewer grate was perilous to riders because the grating ran parallel to the direction of travel. Furthermore, the lawsuit states the man suffered serious injury from the fall.
