Mayor’s new bike lane plan to increase safety

A bike lane network that includes protected bike lanes equipped with red lights designated for bicycles will expand by the end of this year. Mayor Rahm Emanuel plans on making Chicago one of the most bike-friendliest cities in the nation. The proposed plan will add 22 miles of protected bike lanes by the end of this year.
