The Fight Against Nursing Home Neglect

Neglect can take many forms such as physical, emotional, or financial. Physical abuse causes pain, impairment, and even death if their injuries go untreated. Emotional abuse occurs when the victim is left in a state of anxiety or fear. It can also take a passive means by the caregiver ignoring the victim to the point of isolation. Finally financial exploitation is the most common and occurs when abusers use their authority to extort money. This also includes healthcare fraud which may lead to the victim not receiving the necessary medications.
